Schweinfurt Middle School has a variety of technology resources that students use in labs and in classrooms. Most of the online resources can be accessed at home as well.
Professional Technology Studies classes teach students keyboarding and how to use office and product designing applications. Every classroom has workstations for students and teachers. Every student is issued his or her own network account and email account. Technology tools are considered "every day" tools. Students use technology tools to complete class work and homework and to communicate with their teachers on a daily basis. In classrooms students receive "just-in-time" technical training from staff and peers. Participation in two after school homework-support activities with access to our technology resources is encouraged.

Students use our DODEA technology resources to enhance their learning. Each year we do more with our technology. This year we have investigated Technology and Information Literacy Skills for the 21st century. Take this link to see how well technology is infused into our lessons and activities, extra events, and communication with parents and the community.
Our efforts have been guided by the International Society for Technology in Education which developed the National Education Technology Standards adopted by DoDEA (I.S.T.E. - N.E.T.S.), the DoDDS-Europe Technology Plan, and the "21st Century Skills" organization.

DoDDS-Europe Technology Plan Vision, Objectives, and Deployment strategy for DoDDS schools in Europe. This plan has provided schools with the hardware and software, the network infrastructure that enables a 21st century education to proceed.
